I have had a great summer so far! Davis & I have been staying busy! This morning we went to our friend Lindsay’s house for a playdate. Her son Ian is so adorable, as were all the kids there! We drank coffee and talked while the kids played. It was fun to make some new friends! Lindsay lives just behind our neighborhood, so we were able to walk there.
We have also been going to a program called Baby Bookworms at the Fayetteville Library. It’s for infants 0-24 months and they sing cute songs and read books. It’s so funny to watch all these toddlers swarming the place. It’s a lot of fun and Davis loooves watching older kids play. You can just see it in his eyes that he wants to do what they are doing. Not long and he will be!
He has also been jabbering a lot! And occasionally he lets out a really high-pitched scream. I think he’s just trying on his voice. I really think that he may be an early crawler. He has been scooting on the floor to reach toys since about 2 days ago. He can also completely turn himself around in the opposite direction! Boy am I going to be in trouble when he figures it out!
Davis has really been making some progress lately! He has two teeth on the bottom; which I think has messed up his sleeping schedule lately. He has always been a GREAT sleeper; sleeping all night since he was about 3-4 weeks old. We were very lucky! But, for the past month he has been waking up in the middle of the night to nurse for just a few minutes and go back to sleep. I think it was his teeth that were bothering him. Little by little, since the second tooth has broken through he has slept longer without waking up. Last night he went to bed kind of late; 9:30. But, he slept until 6:00! Yay! What a good night sleep I had! I can only hope that it continues!
A couple of weeks ago we took him swimming for the first time. We were at my in-law’s house in Springfield and decided to get him in the pool. He was pretty nonchalant about the whole thing. He actually seemed pretty bored by it. But, we have been in our neighborhood pool since then and he really enjoyed it.
Sunday Uncle Brent came to visit. Davis loves his uncle! Brent just got back from living in Queens for a little while. He’s in grad school for advertising and has had internships in lots of great cities. But, we don’t get to see him much so we love when he visits! Davis thinks uncle Brent is really funny. He had a great time hanging out with him!
Last night we went to our friends house to watch the Razorback baseball game and Davis got to hang out with his buddy Kyler. He wore a Razorback onesie that his cousin Caleb wore when he was Davis’ age. Caleb will be spending a week with us next week. We will be going to Wooly Hollow in Greenbrier this weekend for a surprise camping trip for Caleb’s birthday! I can’t wait! It’s been since last year that I went camping. I didn’t feel too great either being that I was about 4 weeks pregnant! Should be a fun weekend!
See, told ya we’ve been keeping busy!
