We just returned last week from a road trip/family vacation to Corpus Christi, TX. The drive was long but the trip was fun! We went to the beach, the Texas State Aquarium, toured the USS Lexington, and ate some good seafood. Davis did surprisingly well on the drives. He napped on and off, and only really cried and fussed when he was hungry or sleepy. The hard part was pumping milk for him on the road. Ugggh.
I was a little worried about sharing a hotel room with my sister for fear that Davis would wake her up in the middle of the night. The only night that he woke up was the first night. I couldn’t blame him though, he had been in the car for 10 hours sleeping on and off! He cried for 30 minutes then stopped and fell asleep again. Man, 30 minutes feels like 3 hours when your baby is crying and won’t go to sleep! The other nights he slept all night!
The drive back home was actually pretty fun. We decided to stop off a few places on the way. We stopped in San Antonio to pick up a road bike that Ryan was buying from a guy on craigslist. Then we stopped in Buda, TX at a Cabela’s for dad. It’s like a glorified Bass Pro Shop. I suffered through it. Next was Ikea in Round Rock, TX. This is where we got Davis’ high chair. WHAT A DEAL! The chair was 19.99, the tray was 4.99 and the striped cushion was 3.99. And, it’s more modern than anything you can find around here. It was also the cheapest visit I have ever had to Ikea. I can go NUTS in that store, and Ryan had to tell me to focus alot, because I can find a reason to buy everything that I see! Anyway, it was a great trip! Here are some photos to enjoy.
